A remote-controlled, self-propelling vehicle with a crawler drive for the propulsion is provided with a track chain essentially covering the entire width of the vehicle to increase the grip on the underlying surface, the tractive power and the load-bearing capacity of the vehicle. The vehicle is suitable for drawing ropes, cables and hoses into inaccessible spaces, for example conduits. When the vehicle tips over an automatic reversal of the direction of rotation of the track chain takes place so that the vehicle maintains its forwards movement.
