<p>A coupling assembly and a method of connecting and terminating coaxial cable. The coupling assembly includes a connector body (12) having a mating area (14) for the cable (16), a driver (32), means (18) for urging the driver and the body toward each other, a compressive member (42) positioned between the connector body (12) and driver (32) which is deformable and which has sufficient compressive strength to deform the cable jacket (44). When the compressive member (42) is deformed by the driver (32) the compressive force from the member is focused by an angled surface (37) of the connector body (12) to deform the cable (16) at the mating area (14) and to provide an environment seal and EMI seal between the cable and coupling assembly. </p> |
