<p>The machine for butting electrodes of electric arc furnaces is characterized in that the bell (3) is provided between its clumping chucks, with a centering chuck (7), in that the upper chuck (4) is fitted with an expansible stop (8) limiting its opening, and with pinions (9) driving the clamping spiral of the retractable jaws (10), and in that the device (6) for rotatingly driving the bell (3) is comprised of a screw (11) - nut (12) assembly for imparting a translation motion to the bell (3), by motors (13) for the final screwing of the electrode, and by a device (14) for rotatingly driving and braking the bell (3), the assembly of control elements being pneumatically servo controlled.</p> |
