PURPOSE:To perform copying irrespectively of the direction of works by holding a torch a swing arm provided movably in biaxial directions, and performing copying by the cooperation of a potentiometer provided to the revolving shaft in the joint part of the arm and copying sensors disposed to the torch. CONSTITUTION:A body 1 of a welding machine is disposed with copying sensors A, B in the position of the parallel plane sandwiching a torch 2. The sensors and torch are supported to a swing arm 3 having a revolving shaft 4 in 1 or >=2 joint parts; further the arm is connected and supported and to sliding arms 5, 6 movable in biaxial (x), (y) directions. A potentiometer is attached to the shaft 4. The three rotating regions alpha, beta, gamma of the arm 3 meeting the opening of objects 7 to be welded are set and in which region the torch 2 exists is determined from the resistance value of the potentiometer. The command for the biaxial operating of the arms 5, 6 is given by the outputs from the sensors A, B and the kind of the above-mentioned regions. Copying of the fillet is thus accomplished irrespectively of the relative positional relation between the welding machine body and the objects to be welded. |
