PURPOSE:To enable easy loading of an insert into dies even if the insert loading part of the dies is narrow in the stage of loading the insert into the dies of a die casting machine by attaching freely slidably an insert holding member to an insert feeder. CONSTITUTION:Casting of a cylinder block, etc. by using a stationary die 6 and a movable die 7 of a die casting machine 3 is accomplished by loading an insert 21 for forming the internal cavity of the cylinder into both dies 6, 7, and clamping and fixing both dies by a die clamping device 9 then charging under pressure molten Al, etc. into the casting cavity between the dies and the insert by an injecting device 10 and casting the cylinder. A holding member for the insert 21 is freely slidingly attached to an insert feeder 16 in this case and an extruding member for the insert 21 is provided in the collared part at the rear end of the holding member, by which the relatively easy feeding and loading of the insert into the narrow part of the dies is made possible. |
