PURPOSE:To provide parts for extrusion working having improved wear resistance by using a hot working tool steel as a base body, plating a high melting on the surface thereof and further coating an inorg. nitride such as TiN thereon. CONSTITUTION:A hot working tool steel is formed into a required shape and a high melting metal such as Ni, Cr or the like is plated on the surface thereof. An inorg. nitride selected from TiN, BN, Si3N4 is coated thereon by an on plating or chemical vapor deposition method. The diffusion with a Zn alloy is thus prevented even if the steel is used at a high temp. and under a high pressure. The life of parts for extrusion working such as dies and die blocks formed by such steel is extended by about 2-5 times. |
