METHOD FOR DETAINING BEGINNING END OF WELDING WIRE TO BE WOUND ON SPOOL

PURPOSE:To detain easily and surely the beginning end of a welding wire to be wound by forming a loop at the beginning end, making the incident angle at the end point of the loop acute with respect to the start point of the loop and pushing the winding barrel wire of a spool into the loop. CONSTITUTION:The end of a welding wire W is preliminarily bent at two points K and P along the cast to form a triangular loop in the stage of detaining the beginning end of the wire W to be wound to a cage spool formed by joining the spool elements (a)-(h) formed by bending metallic wire rod 1. The loop is formed to have <=90 deg. incident angle alpha at the end point 2 of the loop to the start point 3 of the loop and to have the spacing L thereof smaller than the diameter (d) of the winding barrel wire 1a of the spool. The wire 1a is pressed to the end side Wb of the loop and is moved in an arrow A direction to push the end side Wb of the loop in the direction B reducing the loop area so as to be pushed into the position 1b in the loop. The end side Wb is then returned to the direction C of restoring the loop area and the end of the wire W is detained to the spool.
