PURPOSE:To adjust automatically the focus of laser light to a working surface even if the thickness of a sample changes by stopping the ascending of the sample by a lifting mechanism according to the height of the working sample placed on a stage for laser working. CONSTITUTION:A lifting mechanism 1 having a plane part 7 is attached on a reference plane 2 and a stanchion 6 is erected on the plane 2. A probe 4 consisting of a bar-shaped member is attached to the stanchion 6 so as to move freely in the plane perpendicular to the plane part 7 of the mechanism 1 and in the plane parallel therewith. A working sample 8 is placed on the plane part 7 and when the sample rises to a specified height, the tip of the probe 4 contacts with the working surface of the sample and is lifted accordingly. Then the rear end of the probe 4 moves downward to press a switch 5. If the output of the switch 5 is inputted as a stop signal to the control circuit of a driving source 3, the mechanism 1 is automatically stopped when the working surface rises to the specified height. |
