PURPOSE:To provide simple constitution with a display and a printing function by providing an image carrier which consists of a transparent substrate, transparent conductive substrate, and photosensitive layer and moves forth and back, and forming an erasable visible image corresponding to a recording signal almost at right angles to the moving direction of the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A DC bias is applied between the toner carrier 20a in a developing device 20 and the transparent conductive substrate of a beltlike photosensitive body 22. A light beam which is modulated and reflected by a scanner 4 passes through a lens 5 and a fixed reflecting mirror 21 to illuminate a development position on the photosensitive body 22. In this case, when the photosensitive body 22 is conveyed clockwise, a real toner image is formed on its surface and sent to a display part. When the photosensitive body is conveyed counterclockwise, on the other hand, an imaginary toner image is formed on the surface and sent to a transfer part, where it is transferred to a transfer material 12 conveyed synchronously with the photosensitive body 22. A destaticization lamp 7 is turned on in order to prevent an optical record from being left on the photosensitive body after image formation. Thus, the simple constitution performs display or printing. |
