PURPOSE:To obtain a long life without deterioration in a mold release property in the stage of reproducing an information recording carrier by covering the surface for holding information with a metallic film having excellent resistance to oxidation. CONSTITUTION:A polished flat glass 1 on which a resist film 2 having a relief pattern for information is used as a master disc. A thin metallic film 3 of Au, Pt, Rh, Ru, Pd, etc. having resistance to oxidation is uniformly deposited by evaporation over the entire surface of such resist film to 0.1mum thickness. Ni 4 is further provided to 250mum thickness thereon by using said film as a substitute for an electrode. The Ni layer is thereafter lined with a glass plate via an epoxy adhesive agent and the master plate is removed. The surface of the resultant metallic mold is cleaned with a solvent and the mold is used as a mold for duplication. |
