A lquid crystal display device comprises a pair of electrodes indicating patterns, at least two liquid crystal layers interfolded on each other, and two polarizing plates having the same polarizing orientaion. The improvement is that another polarizing plate is inserted between two liquid crystal layers, whose orientation is different from those of the above two polarizing plates.
