A decorative thermoset-resin laminate has prominent and depressed ports, the depressed parts being darker in color than the prominent parts. The laminate is composed of a folded composite structure that includes: a supporting member, one or more kraft paperboards impregnated with thermoset phenolic resins, and a paperboard impregnated with noble thermoset resins, which are substantially transparent when heathardened. The process includes pressing the composite structure at 110-155oC and 55-120kg/cm2 with a pressing plate, having prominences and depressions. Thus, the degree of conpression is greaten at the depressed parts of the kraft paperboards than at the prominent parts, and the topmost kraft paperboard is visible through the noble resin-impregnated paperboard.
