PURPOSE:To provide cadmium anode plate having low cost and high productivity for an alkaline storage battery by immersing a nickel porous body impregnated with Cd(NO3)2 in concentrate caustic alkali to convert into Ca(OH)2. CONSTITUTION:A nickel porous body such as nickel sinter is immersed in Cd(NO3)2 solution and excess solution is removed. Then the porous body is immersed in concentrate caustic alkali solution such as NaOH at 10-50 deg.C to convert Cd(NO3)2 into Cd(OH)2 chemically. By this process, utilization of active material is increased and cadmium anode plate having almost the same discharge performance as that manufactured by electrolytic process is obtained. |
