PURPOSE:To use an interchangeable lens for a camera which has a large flange back for a camera body which has a small flange back by providing an intermediate adapter itself with a diaphragm device which is used instead of the stop device of the interchangeable lens. CONSTITUTION:This intermediate adapter 100 is attached between the interchangeable lens 20 for the camera which has the large flange back and the camera body 40 which has the small flange back is order to use the interchangeable lens 20 for the camera body 40. This intermediate adapter 100 is equipped with the diaphragm device 104 which is driven by a motor 105 and used instead of the diaphragm device of the interchangeable lens 20, an aperture value information transfer means 21 which transfers aperture value information on the aperture value setting member of the interchangeable lens 10 to the diaphragm device 104, a variable resistor 103 as a converting means whch converts the set aperture value information into the quantity of electricity, and electric contacts 107 and 108 which transmit and receive the quantity of electricity and an operation signal for the motor 105 to and from the camera body 40.
