PURPOSE:To obtain a reflection type polarizing plate which is of a thin type, has an excellent reflection characteristic and is suitable when used for a reflection type liquid crystal device by forming a specific hardened film on the surface of the polarizing plate and further forming a metallic film deposited by evaporation thereon. CONSTITUTION:(B) A compd. (about 20-80wt% concn. of solid component) consisting of a UV curable type acryl urethane resin, acrylic resin and amorphous porous silica particles having about <=30mu average grain size is coated to about 0.5-30mu on the surface of (A) a polarizing plate and is dried. UV light is irradiated thereto to form a hardened film. (C) A metal (Al, Ni, Cr, etc.) having excellent light reflectivity is further deposited by evaporation on said film to form a metallic reflection layer having about 400Angstrom -1mu thickness, by which the reflection type polarizing plate is obtd. |
