PURPOSE:To attain ease and simplicity of adjustment by aranging plural EO amplitude controllers controlling the transmitted light amount by means of a voltage to correct shading in a shading correcting device used for a facsimile device. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 14 and 15 are fitted respectively to the upper and lower face of an electrooptic crystal 13 of the EO amplitude controller 20 and a DC power supply 17 changes a polarized plane of an incident light to which a voltage EO is impressed. The polarized direction of this polarizer 11 and the polarized direction of an anaylzer 16 are made orthogonal to each other, and the polarized plane of a phase plate 12 is changed so as to minimize the irradiated light intensity from the analyzer 16 when a voltage is not impressed to the electrooptic crystal 13. The transmissivity of the EO amplitude controller 20 to the impressed voltage V1 is controlled by the voltage. Plural number of the EO amplitude controllers 20 are arranged to attain the shading correction.
