IGNITION AND EXTINCTION DETECTOR FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To decide on ignition when a positive-directional output is large or extinction when small and to detect an ignition limit by comparing the output of a positive-directional peak holding circuit with that of a negative-directional peak holding circuit through a comparator. CONSTITUTION:The output of the positive-directional peak holding circuit 32 is compared with the output of a negative-directional peak holding circuit 33 by the comparator 34. When the positive-directional output is larger than the negative-directional output, the output of the comparator 34 rises in level to decide on ignition, and when the positive-directional output is smaller than the negative- directional output, the output of the comparator 34 falls in level to decide on extinction. The output timing of the comparing circuit 34 is so determined by the output of a timing arithmetic circuit 24 by opening a gate. Consequently, the ignition limit is detected practically and accurately.
