<p>PURPOSE:To convert automatically the numerical value with a unit of measurement into the value of a designated unit system by using a table showing the correspondence between the unit system of the corresponding measuring unit or the type of language and the coefficient of the measuring unit corresponding to a prescribed unit of measurement for every measuring unit. CONSTITUTION:The converting conditions set by a conversion mode changeover switch 2 of a keyboard 1 are held by a register 4 in a processor 3. If an input sentence contains the unit marks (m, f, t, etc.) which can be converted, a processing program refers to the unit system of the corresponding unit and checks whether this unit system is coincient with the designated unit system on the register 4. When no coincidence is obtained between both unit systems, the numerical value is multiplied by the coefficient of the using unit and then divided by the coefficient of the designated unit. In such a way, the conversion is carried out and the result of this conversion is delivered. In this case, the unit mark is also replaced with a character code of the designated unit and displayed.</p> |
