PURPOSE:To provide the titled paint which has good stability and gives a coating film having chafing resistance and high hardness without requiring heating, by using a specified Si atom-contg. resin as a base. CONSTITUTION:The titled paint consists of 100pts.wt. silyl group-contg. vinyl resin (A) whose main chain is composed of a polyvinyl linkage and which has at least one Si atom attached to a hydrolyzable group at its terminal or on its side chain (e.g. a resin obtd. by reacting a hydrosilane compd. such as methyldichlorosilane with a vinyl resin such as PVC in the presence of a group VIIItransition metal, e.g. platinum, as catalyst) as a base, 0.01-20pts.wt. curing catalyst (B) such as tin caprylate and 0-900pts.wt. solvent (C) such as xylene. The paint has good stability, gives a hard coat having high chafing resistance and hardness without requiring heating and allows in-situ application to be carried out without requiring any instrument for exclusive use.
