PURPOSE:To provide a thermal printer having a printing head pressed uniformly against a platen over the entire length thereof, wherein a head substrate provided with heating elements in a transverse line is supported by special fitting plates, supporting levers fitted with springs, a strap member or the like. CONSTITUTION:A pair of fitting plates 5, 5 are fixed to the back side of a flat plate form head substrate 1 with a spacing therebetween, a pair of supporting levers 9, 9 which are connected to bent parts 7, 7 provided at the fitting plates 5, 5 and push the substrate 1 toward the platen 3 on the front side by the forces of the springs 11 are independently rotatably fitted to a supporting shaft 8, springs 16 are provided between bent parts 7, 7 of the plates 5, 5 and raised parts 15, 15 of the supporting levers 9, 9 faced to the parts 7, 7 with a spacing therebetween, and adjusting screws 17, 17 loosely penetrating through the bent parts 7, 7 and engaged to the raised parts 15, 15 are provided. Further, the strap member 18 making contact with the back side of the substrate 11 is provided at an intermediate part between the levers 9, 9, and the contact position 23 of the strap member 18 with the back side of the substrate 1 and connecting positions of the supporting levers 9, 9 with the bent parts 7, 7 are located on opposite sides of a contact line of the platen 3 and the head 2. |
