PURPOSE:To provide a solderable insulated wire which has excellent low-temperature solderability as well as good resistance to crazing and solvents, by applying a blend of a specified polyol component and a stabilized polyisocyanate to a conductor and baking it. CONSTITUTION:A polyol component consisting of 100pts.wt. lactone polyol having an average MW of 200-100,000 and a hydroxyl value of 50-700 and 10- 800pts.wt. arom. ring-contg. polyester polyol (or polyether polyol) having an average MW of 200-10,000 and a hydroxyl value of 200-500, is used. Said polyol component and a stabilized polyisocyanate such as Millionate MS-50 (a product of Nippon Polyurethane K.K.) are blended together in such a proportion as to give an equivalent ratio of isocyanate group to hydroxyl group of 0.4-2. The resulting blend, a curing accelerator and an org. solvent are mixed together to give a paint compsn., which is then applied to a conductor and baked at 300- 400 deg.C for 4-100sec, thus forming a solderable insulated wire.
