Differential thermal analysis with continuous specimen flow

The thermal behaviour of a solid is established from a stream of the particulate material delivered continuously at uniform rate to a conveyor which takes the material through a closed heater which simultaneously heats it over an entire temp. range. The conveyor may be an open channel or an annular gap. A temp. sensor in contact with the material is used to establish the location along the stream at which the effect concerned comes into operation, and the thermal behaviour of the stream in that temp. zone is constantly measured. Additional temp. sensors may be used, corresp. to the number of thermal effects being examined.
