The vacuum cleaner head comprises a casing (1) with opening (8) and connected to the suction pipe (26). A base plate (12) is fixed beneath the casing and extends over a channel (30) attached to the opening (8). A movable plate (40) set inside the casing on the peripheral line of the opening (8) is guided vertically, interacts with a spring (42) and has a peripheral brush (41). It is operated by a pedal (46). The plate guide is formed from the wall (47) of the opening which interacts with the guide elements (51) of the plate. The opening serves for fastening the foot plate and assembling the springs (42).
