An enriched composition of ores of metal oxides and of similar oxide compounds is obtained by subjecting them to a flotation with foaming in the presence of a phosphonic amino acid RaRb<1>Rc<2>N(R<3>PO3H2)3-a-b-c (R,R<1>,R<2>, identical or different: organic group; R<3>: divalent organic group; a, b, c: 0 or 1; when a is 1, b and c are zero; and when a is zero, b and c are equal to 1) or of its salts.
