This lamp-post allows varied assemblies and combinations whose number and arrangement produce aesthetically homologous and homogeneous units. In particular, this lamp-post comprises a raised part 9, 11; this raised part is delivered disassembled and can be fitted onto the upper end of the shaft 6 and receives at its top an ornament of appropriate type 13, 14; there is threaded onto the raised part 11 a sleeve 15, 20 of polygonal cross section comprising on its vertical faces horizontal threaded bolts 16, in sufficient number, the said bolts being used to support the bases or consoles 17 of the lantern 19, the number of consoles which can be fitted being a function of the number of polygonal faces of the sleeve.
