PURPOSE:To form a coating film layer having excellent corrosionproofness and adherability to enable corrosionproof and antifouling effects to be kept over a long period of time, by coating a steel structure with a room temperature curing liquid resin compsn. and then with an antifouling paint. CONSTITUTION:A steel structure is coated with a room temperature curing liquid resin compsn. consisting of 100pts.wt. epoxy resin-modified unsaturated polyester resin obtd. by bonding an unsaturated polyester having allyl ether and carboxyl groups to the epoxy group of a bifunctional bisphenol A type resin, 10-60pts.wt. flat pigment (e.g. glass flake having a thickness of 0.5-10mu and a length of 0.1-6mm.), 0.01-3.0pts.wt. silane coupling agent [e.g. beta-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilane] and pref. further a curing accelerator (e.g. methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) and then coated with an antifouling paint (e.g. cuprous oxide-contg. paint). The coating film is excellent in adhesion between layers and can retain rustproof and antifouling effects over a long period of time. |
