PURPOSE:The titled pharmaceutical preparation having antiseptic effect, containing interferon and thimerosal. CONSTITUTION:Interferon is blended with 0.002-0.05wt% thimerosal having antiseptic effect, and further mixed with an isotonizing agent, pH adjustor, soothing agent, stabilizer, etc. to give a pharmaceutical preparation of interferon useful as eye drop, injection, absorbent, etc. A pharmaceutical preparation of interferon having further stability and antiseptic effect is obtained by adding glucose to thimerosal-containing pharmacetical preparation of interferon. Interferon is a certain glycoprotein prepared from an animal cell including human by irritation by virus or other substance, and is a very useful substance having inhibitory action on virus multiplication, antitumore action, etc.
