An energy-saving cooking vessel for use on an open flame, having an outer vessel which surrounds the combustion gases, wherein an opening in its bottom terminates with the gas burner or the burner head of a vaporising burner in such a way that not substantially more than the amount of combustion air necessary for complete combustion can reach the flame. The annular and bottom space enclosed between the cooking vessel and the outer vessel are of such confined construction that the combustion gases eddy. The outer vessel is of heat-insulating construction, whereas the cooking vessel is composed of material with good heat-conducting characteristics and has on its outer side a lamella surface and/or heat exchanging ribs. The energy-saving cooking vessel can be taken apart for cleaning purposes. For reasons of saving weight and improved transportability, for mobile use, the outer vessel is formed by multi-layer, flexible and heat-resistant fabric which is stretched removably over a frame which can be plugged together with removable, firmly hooked-in support legs. After separation at a separation point, the outer vessel can be spread flat for easier transportation. <IMAGE>
