A container is composed of two parts (10, 12) whose edge parts (14, 16) are designed to correspond to one another and in each case so as to overlap halfway and to be overlapped halfway. In this manner, the parts can be combined in any desired combination, e.g flat lid part with deep bottom part, or two flat lid parts or two deep bottom parts, to produce containers of different volumes. <IMAGE>
