As regards heavy outward-opening top-hung wings having a scissor-like pivot bearing, an overstressing of the linkage members is prevented and a balancing of the wing in its various pivoting positions obtained by mounting a second supporting arm which is provided approximately parallel to the first supporting arm between the top-hung wing and the fixed frame. The two supporting arms can be respectively articulated directly on the wing and fixed frame at both ends. In a preferred embodiment, they are articulated at one end, but on a second link which is itself articulated on the wing, preferably on the fixed frame.
