PURPOSE:To attain the transfer of a transferred data directly from a low-order layer to the highermost order layer by indicating a storage location of a header section and a data section with discrimination when a network control level indicates the storage section of a packet to a CCU (communication controller). CONSTITUTION:When a data link level packet reaches the communication controller CCU7, it is stored in a data link buffer memory 7A. The CCU7 informs the arrival of the packet to a main CPU 4. The CPU 4 calls out a network control level program. The network control level indicates the storage location of the header section [incoming node address (a)- data length (k)] to the CCU7. The CCU7 transfers the header section from the buffer 7A to a buffer 5A being a prescribed storage location. The network control level checks the header section and when the address is to the own address, the level informs the arrival of packet to a transportation level. Thus, the storage location of a data l1 is decided from the address in a buffer 5B. |
