Electrical switch, especially for motor vehicles

The switch has a stationary insulating element having a plurality of stationary primary contacts, connected to a power source, and a multiplicity of stationary secondary contacts, as well as an insulating slide having a multiplicity of moving contacts. The slide is guided such that it slides in a two-stepped groove of the stationary element. The stationary primary contacts and the stationary secondary contacts on the two steps are arranged in rows which are at least approximately parallel to the continued movement axis of the slide. The moving contacts are arranged in corresponding rows on the slide. The stationary contacts belonging to one and the same row are separated from one another by means of grooves which are worked into the stationary insulating element. Some of the stationary contacts have the shape of a flat plate and the rest of the stationary contacts have the shape of a plate which is bent at an angle.
