To transmit signals between subscriber connection lines and at least one transmission line of an integrated-services telecommunications system in which control and/or special data signals occur at a relatively low transmission rate on the subscriber connection lines and in which these signals occur in time channels on the respective transmission line, it is provided that the subscriber connection lines are combined via a concentrator and connected to the respective transmission line on which as many time channels as required are provided, subject to transmission capacity constraints, for the transmission of special data signals, according to the volume of traffic present. <IMAGE>
