The invention relates to a combination lock for suitcases, briefcases or the like, having a housing (1), in which are arranged next to one another at least two setting discs (3) which are rotatably mounted on mutually parallel axles (4) separate from one another, and having a bolt (11) adjustable in the housing (1) between a closing position and an opening position, the setting discs (3) each consisting of a number wheel (14) and of a blocking disc (15) which are coupled to one another by means of a catch device (19, 20), and the blocking discs (15) being provided with entry slots (22) which, with code correctly set, allow the blocking cams (23), assigned to this, of a blocking slide (9) to enter the aligned entry slots (22), which blocking slide (9) is connected to an actuating button (5) and to a bolt (11) having a bolt head (28) for the clip (27) of the clasp (2) of the lock. To provide such a combination lock which consists of only a comparatively small number of individual parts, it is proposed, according to the invention, that the actuating button (5) engages by means of a driver (7) into a passage (8) of the blocking slide (9), said passage being in the form of a long hole and its edge (10) resting on the end edge of the bolt (11) which is located next to the blocking slide (9) and which, under the effect of a spring (12), ... bearing against the edge (10) of the passage (8) ...
