A feed cup is proposed for animals kept in cages, consisting of a trough for receiving the feed and of a filling shaft for the feed, opening obliquely into the trough, the feed cup being capable of being secured in a cage wall in such a manner that the trough is situated inside the cage wall and the filling shaft outside the cage wall, and the feed cup being mounted in the cage wall to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. As a result, it is possible to fill and empty the feed cup from outside.
