The invention relates to a hydraulic tensioning nut for the mutual axial clamping together of two workpiece or machine parts, in particular a collet chuck and a clamping chuck. The tensioning nut has two clamping surfaces facing each other on a cylindrical piston and a housing, which when a hydraulic pressure builds up in the tensioning nut experience a relative axial displacement towards each other and thereby clamp the two workpiece or machine parts together. The cylindrical piston can be firmly screwed, with an internal thread serving as a first clamping surface, onto one of the workpiece or machine parts, in particular the clamping chuck, while the housing rests together with the second clamping surface on the other workpiece or machine part, in particular on the collet chuck.
