PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of an optical communication network by controlling the shape of tapered end parts of an optical distributer and an optical synthesizer or the extent of optical axial shifting between abutting parts, and determining the optical distribution ratio of the optical distributer and the optical synthesizing ratio of the optical synthesizer. CONSTITUTION:This describes, for example, a 1:3 optical distributer and a 3:1 optical synthesizer using a tapered fiber. One terminal of one optical fiber 63 of the distributer is welded to one-side terminals of three optical fibers in a bundle and the optical fiber 62 as a light guide-in part and the tapered optical distributing part of the optical fibers 64-66 constitute the optical distributer. Then, one-side terminals of three optical fibers 65, 67, and 68 are welded together in a bundle and tapered, and this taperd terminal part is connected as a light guide-in part to one terminal of an optical fiber 69 as an optical synthesizing part, thus constituting the optical synthesizer. |
