PURPOSE:To effect a similar analyzing efficiency whether an abnormal whole blood sample or a normal whole blood sample is used, by using a whole blood sample prepared by diluting whole blood with a specified quantity ratio of water diluent. CONSTITUTION:A water dilueut is a liquid including substantially no hemolytic property to which belong isotonic liquids including inorganic salts of aqueous solution of physiological salt, etc. (physiological salt solution. Ringer's solution, etc.) and isotonic liquids prepared by addition to the aqueous solution of physiological salt of hydraphilic, water-soluble or water-dispersible organic matters such as dextran, polyvinyl-pirolidone, albumin, etc. for adjustment of viscosity. Mixing ratio in volume is 1 volume of complete blood sample to 0.1 through 10 of aqueous dilulant. A diluted complete blood sample is applied in points on a prorous developing layer of multilayer analyzing material, optical density in a luminous range is measure by a reflecting light measuring method from a transparent supporting body side, and a content of analyte in the complete blood sample is determined by calculation by a principle of colorimetry.
