PURPOSE:To confirm the quantity of remaining liquid in a container readily and accurately and to improve the service life to a large extent without using electrodes, by utilizing the absorption of light. CONSTITUTION:A recess part 6 is provided at a position facing a reagent container B of a bracket 1, A long protruded part 7 of the reagent container B is coupled with the recess part 6. The bracket 1 is moved up and down along the longitudinal direction of the long protruded part 7 by a driving device 2. A light projecting body 3 and a light receiving body 4 are mounted on the surface parts of the recess part 6 of the bracket 1 so as to face each other. When luminous flux (infrared rays) emitted from the light projecting body 3 is transmitted through the reagent in the reagent container B, an output voltage V from the light receiving body 4 is rapidly decreased (b). A control device 5 detects the time point (b), thr rotary angle of a motor M in the driving device 2 is detected by an angle detector 9, and a water level (l) is detected and then displayed and memorized by a monitor. |
