PURPOSE:A uniform pitch composition having low slurry viscosity even in high pitch concentration, showing improved transportation and spray combustion properties, having low precipitation properties, obtained by dispersing pitch into an aqueous medium using specific polyether dispersants. CONSTITUTION:>=50wt% pitch is dispersed into an aqueous medium by using a compound obtained by adding an alkylene oxide selected from propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to an active hydrogen compound by addition polymerization, followed by crosslinking the prepared polymer with a crosslinking agent selected from a polyfunctional isocyanate compound, a polyfunctional epoxy compound, polyfunctional carboxylic acid compound, and an aldehyde compound and a sulfuric ester as dispersants. Asphalt deasphalted with a solvent is used as the pitch, and has a particle distribution having >= about 70wt% particle size passing through 200 meshes. The dispersants have 60-80wt% polyoxyethylene group and 5,000-50,000 molecular weight and the amount used is 0.1-2pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. pitch.
