<p>PURPOSE:To perform the continuous measurement of moisture regardless of the state of an object to be measured, that is, the color, the reflectivity, the composition or the particle shape thereof, by detecting the moisture concn. in an atmosphere formed by evaporating moisture from the object to be measured by heating the same under light irradiation. CONSTITUTION:When an object 11 to be measured is irradiated with the emitting light of a light source such as a tungsten lamp or a halogen lamp emitting infrared rays, said object 11 to be measured is heated to evaporate moisture. Warmed air rises through a conduit 16 along with moisture 24 and infrared rays from the light source part 21 in a light path 18 are incident to a light receiving part 22 while light in the characteristic absorption wavelength region of the moisture is absorbed. The moisture concn. detected by the light receiving part 22 is dependent on the evaporated moisture amount from the object 11 to be measured and, when the irradiation time by the emitting light 13 is constant, the output signal of the light receiving part 22 comes to the measure for measuring the moisture content of the object 11 to be measured.</p> |
