PURPOSE:To carry out thermal decomposition of plastic waste with suppressing formation of carbon in a reactor and keeping catalytic activity, by heat-treating the plastic waste in the presence of a catalyst, decomposing a liquid reaction product under specific conditions, taking out properly the deteriorated catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Plastic waste and a catalyst are sent to the preliminary reaction tank 3, heated to about 360 deg.C, and partly subjected to thermal decomposition. The prepared liquid plastic and the catalyst are fed to the reaction tank 2, uniformly stirred under heating at 400-470 deg.C, thermally decomposed, isomerized, and distilled. While the catalyst used for thermal decomposition and deteriorated is transferred to the bottom of the reaction tank 2, it is taken out at a proper time by driving the eliminating device 4, and stored in the collection tank 9. EFFECT:Having high yield of distillate and high speed of distillation.
