PURPOSE:To enable a robot moving along an indoor path to recognize the state of said path by storing the pictures of the path which are photographed by a TV camera set on the path and giving the arithmetic processing to the photographed pictures. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 2 is attached onto a mobile robot 1 via a universal head controller 3. The TV pictures of an indoor path which are photographed by the camera 2 are supplied to a picture memory 5 via a picture processing part 4. A computer 6 operates the position correcting information and the position information of the camera 2. Based on these information, the controller 3 of the camera 2 and the robot 1 are controlled by a robot controller 7.
