PURPOSE:To control more stably a tension of a rolling material by obtaining upper and lower limiting values of current for a looper driving motor in accordance with a torque change of the looper shaft and limiting the current for the looper driving motor within said upper and lower limiting values. CONSTITUTION:A tension detector is provided to the looper roll between rolling mills to control the tension of the rolling material by controlling the amount of loop and a height detector is provided to the looper to control the height of the looper by controlling the speed of looper driving motor. In this case, the upper and lower limiting values of the current for the looper driving motor are obtained in accordance with the torque change of the looper shaft to control the current for looper driving motor within said limiting values. More, the upper and lower limiting values of the current are decided by adding or subtracting the current corresponding to the calculated torque error with the current of the looper driving motor corresponding to the required shaft torque of the looper necessary for rolling. In this way, the tension of the rolling material is more stably controlled. |
