PURPOSE:To simplify the action of a bending punch, to set the number of punches to the necessary ones, and to speed up a die by providing specifically a punch holder and a cam drive to a die holder, in a die used for return flanging one side from the middle part of a tongue piece. CONSTITUTION:A die 31, for obtaining a contact 2 for connector for instance, has shoes; heel blocks 33, 34 fixed to the upper surface of a die holder 32 and a bending die 35 capable of reciprocating on said surface toward the block 33. Further, a cam drive 38 and a punch holder 41 both of which are vertically movable by the repulsive forces of coiled compression-springs 36, 39 and are attached to the holder 32, and a punch 42 having a projection 43 and a pusher block 44 are respectively attached to the lower surface of the holder 41. When a pusher 45 pushes the holder 41 downward by actuating a press, the lower surface of the punch 42 presses the middle part of an L-shaped contact 2'' against the upper surface of the block 33. Next, the die 35, moved leftward by the drive 38 which is pushed downward by the block 44, press-bends a part ranging from the middle part to the front end of the contact 2'' approximately along the projection 43, to finish the press-bent contact 2. |
