PURPOSE:A recording edium capable of being used in optical devices, e.g., slide, OHP, etc., and having excellent transparency and excellent ink absorbability by specifying the linear transmissivity of the recording medium formed by providing an ink absorptive layer on a transparent base material. CONSTITUTION:A solution of a continuous film-forming material (e.g. starch, PVA, etc.) having a sufficient transparency is coated on a transparent base material (e.g., synthetic resin film, glass plate, etc.) and dried to form an ink absorptive layer, thereby obtaining a recording medium having a linear transmissivity of 2% or more.
