<p>The peristaltic pump, esp. for medical applications, uses a mechanically driven element which exerts on a hose a squeezing action in the direction from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. The hose is laid in a circular loop in a hinged or detachable cover and is squeezed by a swashplate, driven by a gear motor. - The gear motor (15, 16) is flanged to the housing (10). An oblique shaft end (18) carries a swashplate (20) on a ball bearing (19), to exert a squeezing action on the hose (26), which is laid in a circular loop into the groove (31) of the hinged cover (22). A diaphragm (25) creates a fluid-tight seal between the swashplate drive and the space with the hose. A compression spring (41) exerts the necessary pressure for the swashplate. The hose ends are connected with a common coupling which is insertable in the cover and has inflow and outflow connections. - On the side of the cover opposite the coupling, the cover is connected with the housing by a hinge.
