The female bayonet fitting (1) has a bulkhead fixing plate (2) and an outer metal cover (5). The conventional spring contacts in the insulated body (4) of the fitting are connected to screw terminals (3) for supply connection. The skirt of the cover (5) has standard bayonet retaining grooves (6). - The adaptor has an insulated body (9) with side lugs (12) to lock into the grooves (6) and a two-pin socket (10) into which the small diameter pins (8) of a halogen spotlamp (7) may be plugged. Internal springs and copper tubes make contact with and retain the lamp contacts.
