The mechanism is intended for folding bread dough into three super-imposed layers. It comprises a roller set to roll a pre-risen dough ball into a slab and a conveyor below the rollers to move the folded three-layer dough mass to the next station in the direction parallel to the roller axes. The relative positions of rollers and conveyor are changed in a horizontal direction at right angles to these axes. Between the rollers and the conveyor a horizontal belt is arranged which is intself drivable in the direction at right angles to the roller axes and is carried by a frame which is similarly movable.
