The parent patent describes a method of propping up (part of) the roof of an underground cavern, esp. over large distances, in which rigid tubes or pipes are driven in side-by-side to form a simple or multi-vaulted arch parallel to the rectilinear or curved axis of the cavern, and intermediate buttresses are used to form a strong arch, opt. completed by the beams and/or props.. - In this patent of addition, the tubes or pipes are driven in along a curved, continuous or broken line and rest on intermediate tie beams which form localised transverse support arches across the concrete filling the tubes or pipes.
